Back to my roots
I find funny the way it is so hard to start something...how the first step usually takes the greatest effort ... But I figured it is almost new year, so it was time to start writing about this last year... But that is a process that will take me far back to my roots...
It had been a long time since I left from where it started...
Ususaly when we depart on a joureney seeking knowledge, truth and sanctuary, it is usual to forget our own sparkle...that same sparkle that gives us the excitement and thrills us to the point we belive we can take the world...
Only lately realised that this sparkle and feeling of blissful recklessness, is the thing I still search for in my journey...its like a combination of freedom and love, maturity and childhood dreams... for maturity comes when we find what really is true to ourselves...
Back in the old days, the garage was like our shrine to music... also our mom's vinyl records with all those "woodstock" classics played a big role, and before we could even realise it was hapenning, I was stumming a second hand petty guitar bought at a second grade musicstore... and my brother had found a new use for moms pans, combined with an old bicicle weel and a phone book, and we made our version of what we called a "drumset"...it was more than a year the time I had owned enough cash for my first electric guitar, and my brother could get his hands on a real drumset...
We where starting our first garage band and it was a hard task to play a full song...But music was fun... and was such fun that was like daydreaming...
Of course we grew up, started seeking knowledge...and before we realised, we where seldom playing together... Other bands...other kinds of music...
But the flavour of those days allways stayed... and now I know I want to keep that scent alive, for it reminds me why I love music...
