When I started writing the first lyrics for this project, I soon realised it was not ment to be interpreted by a single person... It was not meant to be another monologue...
so we came up with the idea of finding another singer to join us...
I started preparing a roleplay with the lyrics, that took this whole project idea to another dimension... Tiago was pretty excited with the idea of sharing the stage with another singer, wich was something completelly new to him...
So we began the search...
From all the female singer I knew, our choice came as unexpected...
Ru was a aparently shy teen girl I was teaching guitar for several months....
I knew she was also a songwriter, and she was seeking value the way most of her friends did...by casting her preformances trough youtube , but I had never heard a sung word out of her lips...
Until one day, when I recieved a christmas song by mistake...
Now when I look back, it is funny how that particular "mistake", made such a big change in direction for us...
Sometimes it is hard to decribe what we are looking for musically, and when something is right, it becomes instatlly obvious... She had "it" ... her aproach made her so diferent from Tiago, but also very connected... and their personal aproach with eachother was very good...they worked in a symbiotic maner, like if they where both part of the same singer... with no disputes (wich is rare for singers)....and preforming like a stage act!
Her aproach sounded energic when Tiago sounded quiet... or naive, when he was sounding confident... she sounded young when he sounded mature... that contrast made our recording sessions pure fun... and I guess that both Ru and Tiago, learned quite a lot about themselves when they teamed up... Her personal style took our basic ideas to a new, fresh direction...
